Introduction

We are excited to inform you about an important update to our metrics terminology within the Manadge platform. This change aims to improve clarity and accuracy in our data representation.

What’s changing?

Old Metric Name: Bid Request Count

New Metric Name: Auction

Why This Change?

The metric previously named "Bid Request Count" has been renamed to "Auction" to more accurately reflect its purpose and definition. Here’s a detailed explanation to help you understand the rationale behind this update:

  1. Auction:

    • Previously called "Bid Request Count," this metric actually represents the number of auctions.

    • Each auction can involve multiple bid requests.

    • At the deal level, the number of Auctions equals the number of Wins, as an auction is counted once it’s won.

  2. Deal Bid Requests:

    • Represents the number of bid requests that included a specific deal.

    • Multiple deals can be included in a single bid request, so summing across deals may cause overlap and inaccuracies.

  3. Bid Responses Count (Bids View):

    • Reflects the total number of bid requests, including those where no bid was placed by the DSP.

    • The "Valid Bids Count" shows the number of bid responses that include an actual bid from the DSP.

How Does This Affect You?

This change will make your reports and analytics more accurate and easier to understand. The term "Auction" better represents the actual data, avoiding confusion.

For all your dashboards using the old name "Bid Requests Count", the naming convention will just be updated to "Auctions".
