Overview

The Troubleshooter is a versatile, user-friendly tool designed for diagnosing issues with private auctions, guaranteed deals, non-guaranteed fixed deals, and open auction deals.
With this tool, you can:

  • Quickly identify why a deal isn't delivering.

  • View detailed reasons and breakdowns of lost impression opportunities across three different levels.

  • Understand why a deal isn't successfully delivering inventory.

Access the Troubleshooter

  1. Navigate to a deal in the "All deals" page,

  2. On the right of your deal name, click Troubleshooter.

Metrics Overview

First, you will see key metrics for a deal’s performance in the top section. Here's what each metric represents:

  1. Deal Bid Requests : The total number of bid requests sent to the buyer for the deal. This represents the number of opportunities the DSP had to bid on ad inventory.

  2. Bid Rate : The percentage of total bid requests that resulted in a valid bid.

  3. Deal Win Rate : The percentage of bids that won the auction for ad placements.

  4. Delivery Rate : The percentage of impressions actually delivered relative to the number of wins.

Deal Performance Flow

This flow represents the stages of the bidding process for a deal, from receiving bid requests to delivering impressions, with explanations of potential bottlenecks.

  1. Bid Requests:
This is the total number of bid requests sent, including the deal.

    • Example issue: Low bid rates can be due to several factors such as:

      • No bid response from the buyer.

      • The bid might have been placed on another competing deal.

      • The request may have timed out.

  2. Valid Bid Count:
Out of the total bid requests, this is the number of valid bids received.

    • Example issue: Some common reasons for lower valid bid counts include:

      • The creative is not transcoded properly.

      • The bid was lost due to price.

      • The bid was considered invalid due to technical issues.

  3. Wins:
This is the number of times the valid bids won the auction.

    • A high win rate indicates successful bidding, but issues such as incorrect creative formats or pricing mismatches could reduce the number of wins.

  4. Impressions Delivered:
This is the number of impressions actually delivered to users after winning the auction.

    • Example issue: A lower delivery rate may be caused by:

      • Creatives not meeting the SSP's technical specifications.

      • Network latency affecting ad delivery.

      • Ad blockers preventing the ad from being displayed.

      • Incompatibility of the creative with the media player (e.g., audio or video).

For troubleshooting, potential issues and their explanations are presented next to each stage of the flow. This helps identify where the process might be failing and what corrective actions may be needed.
